Woburn Sands

This was the first place I visited when I first moved down here, heard good things, wasn’t too far from work (or so I thought), so surely it was worth checking out. First impressions were it was loose dirt and quite sandy in places, nothing at all like the good ol’ hardpack stone surfaces up north, and the jumps were damned big.

Thankfully not too many folk were here so I got chance to try out the new pump track, which is much harder than it looks and will take many more visits before it can be done without pedalling to keep speed. Not too sure how big an area it takes up, it all seems localised around a sort of bowl surrounded by shallow hills that have numerous small tracks carved into them. Seemed to be a good selection of stuff to ride from mini dh style runs, dual slalom runs, mulitple lines with jumps, hips and gaps in them and other random singletrack surrounding it all, there also looks to be some sort of loop through the woods but I’ll save that for another time when I have more then a few hours to spare.
