The last few sunday rides in Surrey hills have all been somewhat of an adventure, and we have had some great local guiding to the trail around Boxhill and Ranmore and even a little more of Pitch Hill too. The local man Rich has been showing myself and others what else there is too offer, some cheeky, some well known and some just real nice natural tracks.
First time we went we had a little ride around Boxhill and Ranmore, the trails were dry, dusty and quite often overgrown which really made them feel fast as you whizzed past trees and under overhanging branches, and if following close behind someone else the dust quickly filled your mouth and made your eyes water. There were a couple of instances were a few of the group got lost, due to misheard instructions as to where to go, or just too much fun on the downs. Thankfully no one got lost for very long. Once the natural trails were ridden it was time to ride the technical trails.
Over the years the locals to this area have been busy building their own trails within the woods, so we were taken to some of these. Jumps, drops, gaps and technical downs were all featured, and we have been back to these trails via a different route on another occasion. I really like this area and will be going back and exploring further over the next few months.
