After being out for nearly four months due to a broken collarbone I finally made it back onto the trails on sunday. Parked up in a rather snowy/slushy peaslake and spent the next two hours enjoying being back out on the bike again. Even though there was a lot of snow, quite a few of the trails had been cleared so the the snaking singletrack lines between the trees and amidst the snow were easy to spot. We even managed to ride a couple of freshly cut trails that otherwise would have gone unnoticed for a little longer.
Was only out for about two hours in total but everything felt pretty good, shoulder didn’t complain too much, legs didn’t feel too weak and didn’t seem to feel too unfit after my time away. There is a little more hestitance in riding certain sections but i’m sure two weeks in the Lakes for xmas will cure that, and I can start the new year feeling fit and ready to ride even more.
